This year 2022, Sónar returns on Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June. The festival will be divided into two parts: Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night. Sónar by Day will be held at the Fira Montjuïc, on Avenida Rius i Taulet in Barcelona, and Sónar by Night will be held at the Fira Gran Via L'Hospitalet, on Avenida Joan Carles I, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
Sónar is a festival that was created in 1994 and has been expanding ever since. It has consolidated its position as an international event and is a pioneer for its artistic and avant-garde character, combined with electronic music and digital creation. Every year it attracts emerging artists that have yet to be discovered and also great artists from the musical and audiovisual production.
Since 2002, more than 50 festivals have been organised all over the world: in Los Angeles, New York, London, Buenos Aires, Seoul, Lisbon, Tokyo, Cape Town and many other major cities.
Fortunately, every year Sónar is held in the city of Barcelona, the festival's originary home. This year, you will be able to enjoy all the activities offered: Sónar by Day, where concerts and showcases are held; Sónar+D, where the International Congress on the digital transformation of the creative industries is held; and Sónar by Night, where the most important international music shows are held.
PARKING SÓNAR 2022
Barcelona is one of the most popular cities in the world; a must-see destination for many tourists and the favourite choice for many people as a place to live. With more than 1 million inhabitants, the number of daily car journeys through the city is huge, including people who come from sorrounding cities or towns to work in the city and people who travel for leisure and/or work from other countries. Therefore, finding a parking space in the city is very complicated and often impossible. And with big events taking place, parking becomes a challenge for many people. To avoid wasting time driving around looking for an available space to park your car, we recommend that you book your parking space in advance with Parkimeter through its website www.parkimeter.com or through the app. You will be able to book a parking space the days and hours that better suits you knowing it will be surveillance.

If you are looking for parking in the Plaza España - Fira de Montjuïc area, you can find regulated parking zones (blue zone or green zone) if you go a little further away and head towards the Eixample, or further into Montjuïc. It's easier to find free parking on Montjuïc; the further up the mountain you go and the further inland you go, the more likely you are to find parking.

If you want to park near the Fira, you can find several places where you can leave your car: near the Gran Via 2 shopping centre or in the industrial area a little further away from the Fira area. In the area around the Fira itself there are practically no parking spaces available, you have to go further away from the event area.
