Parking at the Arena di Verona for the Arena Opera Festival 2022
Find parking near the Arena di Verona for the 99th edition of the Arena Opera Festival this 2022

This year 2022 is the 99th edition of the Arena Opera Festival and, as always, it will take place in the Arena of Verona. The Arena of Verona is a Roman amphitheater built in 30 AD in which fit about 30,000 spectators.
The Verona Arena Festival is the largest opera festival in the world. In the Arena, for a total of 46 nights, in the months of June, July, August and September, great opera performances are held with the best international voices, such as: Carmen, Aida, Nabucco, La Traviata and Turandot. In addition to opera, the festival offers other types of shows such as ballet, concerts and special events.
From June 17, when the Arena Opera Festival began, until September 4, 2022, you can enjoy the magic of the world's largest opera festival in one of the most incredible places: the Arena of Verona. It is located in the city of Verona, an ancient medieval city in northern Italy full of history that is also known worldwide for being the setting of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet".
Where to park near the Arena of Verona
The Arena of Verona is located in the center of the city, right in the middle of the Ciutadella and the Old Town, surrounded by the Adige River. Most of the old city center is pedestrianized, so all traffic is prohibited except for residents, authorized vehicles and cars heading to the center.
Parking near the Verona Arena
The only areas in the center where parking is allowed are: the free and paid parking lots, Piazzale Guardini, Porta Palio and Stadio in Piazzale Olimpia.
If you plan to take your own car or a rental car to move around the city of Verona, the best option is to have a reserved parking space. Verona is a very pedestrian city, which means that it is going to be very difficult to find parking near the center. Getting around and parking can be very difficult with very limited parking spaces. If you want to make sure you have a parking space to park your car for the days of your stay, with Parkimeter you can see the different parking options nearby, to compare prices and book a parking space very close to the Arena di Verona.
On the other hand, street parking in Verona is not an easy task, but if you still prefer to look for a parking space in the city, you should know that Verona has both free and paid parking lots.
Access to the ZTL is from Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm and you can only park in the blue zone for a maximum of 2 hours for a fee of about 1.50 euro. Parking is completely forbidden in the yellow zones.
Transportation options to reach the city of Verona
There are several methods of transportation that allow you to move around the city of Verona or to move around the nearby cities: train, bus and by car are the main ones.
Airplane
If you want to travel by plane, about 10 km southwest of the center of Verona is the airport Valerio Catullo of Verona Villafranca. A little further away, about 52 km from the city, there is also Verona Porta Nuova Airport. Both airports are served by bus and train service that brings you closer to the city of Verona.
Bus
A very good way to get around is by bus. There are different bus lines: day, night, urban, extra-urban, express and airport, among others. Tickets can be purchased on board or before the trip, at tobacconists and kiosks. The Verona bus terminal is located in the square in front of the train station: Verona Porta Nuova.

Train
The main railroad station of the city is Verona Porta Nuova. This station has several connections to the main Italian railway stations with different types of trains: through trains, Eurostar, Intercity and DB trains.
The approximate travel time with high-speed trains from Padua is 45 minutes; from Venice, 1 hour and 10 minutes; from Milan, 1 hour and 20 minutes; from Rome, 2 hours and 50 minutes.
From the train station you can take buses to the city center. The lines are: 11, 12, 13, 14, 72 and 73.
Car
If you plan to drive to Verona or rent a car, you can easily reach the city by taking the A4 Serenissima Milan - Venice highway (exiting at Verona Sud) or the A22 Brenner - Modena highway, arriving at the junction with the A4 in the direction of Venice (exiting at Verona Sud).
Once you have exited the highway, you will have to follow the signs indicating all directions (tutte le direzioni) and then those for the city center.
Cab
Another more comfortable, but less economical, method of transportation is the cab. These are white, but very easy to distinguish.
There is a 24-hour cab service available at the aforementioned train station, Verona Porta Nuova, and at Piazza Bra, but there are also other places in the city where cab stands can be found such as Piazza San Zeno or Piazza delle Erbe.
