Car Park in Cádiz

Where to park in Cádiz
This is the most populated metropolitan area in Andalusia. It is one of the places with the most history, as it is the oldest city in Spain and one of the oldest in Europe. It has countless gardens, squares and monuments.

Where to park in Cádiz

If you are planning to visit Cadiz get ready for a city that will undoubtedly leave you spellbound with its characteristic beaches, sea and extraordinary historic centre. The city is easily accessible by car and is only 1 hour and 30 minutes from the city of Seville, the capital of Andalusia. If your intention is to reach this destination by car, with Parkimeter you'll be able to enjoy a lighter journey. You can search, compare and choose the most suitable car park for your needs. For example, you can park your car in the IC Santa Barbara car park, just a few metres from the historic centre of Cadiz, in a supervised and easily accessible place. In short, you won't waste time looking for parking on the city's busy streets.

What to visit in the city?

A first monument that we invite you to visit for its beauty and religious relevance is the Cathedral of Cadiz, with a beautiful golden dome, the monument is visible from any point in the city. This monument is much loved by the citizens, who baptised it 'New Cathedral' to differentiate it from the old one, which is now the Church of Santa Maria. Another important site with great historical significance is the city's Roman Theatre. Discovered in 1980, it is the oldest in Spain and can seat up to 20 000 people. Entrance is free, so take the opportunity to see it all in its glory.

The Castles of the city

Connected to the city by a pier, you'll find the Castle of San Sebastian, which sits on a small island. Erected to reinforce the city's defences, it's a great place to enjoy a view of Cadiz's seafront. Not far from this last castle, you'll also find the Castle of Santa Catalina, also part of the city's defence system in the past. The peculiarity of the building is its shape, in fact it resembles a star. The castle can be visited and holds numerous works of art and paintings. It is also a great vantage point over the city and the ocean.

A monument worth seeing for its historical importance in the city is the Spanish Steps. Here you will see the famous Monument to the Constitution of 1812, built in 1912 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Constitution, which was signed in the city of Cadiz. The monument is truly fascinating, at the bottom centre there is an empty presidential chair, all around several silhouettes containing texts from the constitution. While the horses represent peace and war.

The market of Cadiz

Located close to the Cathedral, the market of Cadiz is a must-see as it is the best way to get to know the local products and taste them. This market differs from other Andalusian markets in that it is not very large but it is perfect for sampling the fresh produce on offer every day. The cold meats and cheeses that you can find in the different stalls that make up the market are excellent.

The beaches

The town has several beaches but we would like to recommend the most attractive one, La Caleta beach. The perfect place to cool off and take a swim. Located right in the middle between the city's two castles, it is a guarded beach that retains its authentic charm thanks to the small fishing boats moored nearby.

Cadiz is a city that offers many possibilities, whether you want a beach holiday or a cultural one. All you have to do is get in your car, book your parking space in the city and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
