The Vasco da Gama Tower is in Parque das Nações in Lisbon, right next to the Tagus River. It was built for the EXPO in 1998 as an observation tower. It is 145m high, one of the tallest buildings in the Portuguese capital. It is named in honour of Vasco da Gama, a great navigator and commander of the Discoveries period and the main promoter of the sea route to India.
