The Palacio Vistalegre was designed to be able to host all kinds of sporting events, which makes it a very versatile venue. In particular, it has hosted the Atlético de Madrid basketball team after the fire at the Palacio de los Deportes de Madrid in 2002.
The Palacio has also hosted political events, hosting political party assemblies since 2014.
