It is located about 8 km from the city of Bari. Although it is now a civilian airport, it was founded as a military airport in the 1960s.
The Port of Bari is an international port located in southern Italy, north of the city of Bari, on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the most important ports on the Adriatic Sea, welcoming, for example, 2 million passengers in 2012, of which 650,000 were cruise passengers. The port is considered the European gateway to the Balkan Peninsula and the Middle East. It sees many tourists arriving each year with important cruise lines, the main ones being Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV), Anek Superfast, Adria Ferries, Jadrolinija and European Ferries. However, the Port of Bari is not only a tourist port and has all the necessary infrastructure to host international maritime trade.
The port of Bari is, as previously stated, an important port connecting southern Italy to many destinations in the Balkan Peninsula. Among these destinations you can find:
Port of Durrës, connected 18 times a week throughout the year.
Port of Volrë, connected twice a week.
Port of Corfu, connected 10 times a week.
Port of Igoumenitsa, connected once a day.
Port of Patras, connected once a day.
Port of Kefalonia, connected once a week.
You can easily reach the port of Bari by car or by public transport. From Bari train station you can take bus line 20 to the entrance of Varco Dogana. From Bari airport you can take bus line 16 to Piazza Aldo Moro and continue with bus line 20.

Bari also has an international airport with daily domestic flights, as well as flights from several destinations in the UK, Spain, Germany and Belgium.
