The Port of Bari is an international port located in southern Italy, north of the city of Bari, on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the most important ports on the Adriatic Sea, welcoming, for example, 2 million passengers in 2012, of which 650,000 were cruise passengers. The port is considered the European gateway to the Balkan Peninsula and the Middle East. It sees many tourists arriving each year with important cruise lines, the main ones being Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV), Anek Superfast, Adria Ferries, Jadrolinija and European Ferries. However, the Port of Bari is not only a tourist port and has all the necessary infrastructure to host international maritime trade.
