Car Park in Venice-Mestre

If you are planning to spend your holidays in Venice or you are going to the lagoon city for business reasons and you decide to use your car, you should know that, due to its urban structure, the capital of the Veneto Region does not allow the use of vehicles. The most extreme point of access by car is Piazzale Roma, where there are various car parks that allow you to get to Venice on foot, i.e. without having to take any other means of transport. An optimal solution could be to parking in Venezia Mestre and then take the bus or any train to get to Venice. Two other alternatives are parking on the Tronchetto island, from where you can easily reach the city by bus, vaporetto or People Mover and parking in Marghera, from where you can reach Venice in 5 minutes, with any Actv bus.
Public parking
Public car parks in Venice are often full during major festivals such as the Redentore or the Carnevale di Venezia and this leads to long queues and unnerving waits. That's why it is advisable to make a previous reservation with Parkimeter, especially if you want to walk to the centre or park near the Venezia Santa Lucia station. ** Alternatively, you can use the car parks located outside the city, leave your car and reach Venice by public transport.
The Sestieri of Venice
Located in the centre of the Venetian Lagoon, the historic centre of the city of the same name is made up of 121 small islands, linked together by 435 bridges. The Ponte della Libertà connects the centre to the Mestre and Marghera areas, acting as a road link, terminating at Piazzale Roma, and as a rail link terminating at Venice Santa Lucia station. Venice is divided into six districts or sestieri.
- Dorsoduro: located in the south-eastern part of the city and full of open-air cafés and clubs crowded until late at night, it is the university area par excellence. Don't miss: Campo Santa Margherita, Ca' Rezzonico, Gallerie dell'Accademia**, Zattere, Chiesa della Salute, Museo di Punta della Dogana.
- Cannaregio: quiet area, north of the city, home to some of the most famous bàcari in Venice. Not to be missed: Jewish Ghetto**, Lista di Spagna and Strada Nova, Church of Madonna dell'Orto, Ca' D'Oro, Campo Santi Apostoli, Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli.
- San Polo: the smallest but also one of the liveliest districts in the city. To see: Rialto Bridge**, the Erbarìa, the Pescarìa and the Beccarìa, Scuola Grande di San Rocco, Church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, Campo di San Polo.
- Santa Croce**: the only part of Venice where cars can circulate. Sights: Church of San Nicolò di Tolentino, Campo San Giacomo dall'Orio, Ca' Pesaro (Museum of Modern Art), Church of San Stae.
- San Marco: the heart of Venice, with the city's most famous palaces and buildings. Not to be missed: Saint Mark's Square, Campanile (with wonderful views over the whole city), St. Mark's Basilica, Ducal Palace, Ponte dei Sospiri, La Fenice Theatre, Campo Santo Stefano, Correr Museum.
- Castle: located in the eastern part of Venice, it is the largest district of the city. Don't miss: the Venice Biennale, the Giardini della Biennale, Riva degli Schiavoni (charming walk from San Marco to the Giardini), Arsenale, Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo.
Port of Venice
