A group of 120 islands connected through bridges, Venice is accessible from Mestre using the Ponte della Libertà. Book a parking space with Parkimeter and visit its historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

If you are planning to spend your holidays in Venice or you are going to the lagoon city for business reasons and you decide to use your car, you should know that, due to its urban structure, the capital of the Veneto Region does not allow the use of vehicles. The most extreme point of access by car is Piazzale Roma, where there are various car parks that allow you to get to Venice on foot, i.e. without having to take any other means of transport. An optimal solution could be to parking in Venezia Mestre and then take the bus or any train to get to Venice. Two other alternatives are parking on the Tronchetto island, from where you can easily reach the city by bus, vaporetto or People Mover and parking in Marghera, from where you can reach Venice in 5 minutes, with any Actv bus.

Public parking

Public car parks in Venice are often full during major festivals such as the Redentore or the Carnevale di Venezia and this leads to long queues and unnerving waits. That's why it is advisable to make a previous reservation with Parkimeter, especially if you want to walk to the centre or park near the Venezia Santa Lucia station. ** Alternatively, you can use the car parks located outside the city, leave your car and reach Venice by public transport.

The Sestieri of Venice

Located in the centre of the Venetian Lagoon, the historic centre of the city of the same name is made up of 121 small islands, linked together by 435 bridges. The Ponte della Libertà connects the centre to the Mestre and Marghera areas, acting as a road link, terminating at Piazzale Roma, and as a rail link terminating at Venice Santa Lucia station. Venice is divided into six districts or sestieri.

Port of Venice

The Port of Venice is one of the main cruise home ports in the Mediterranean. Thanks to its state-of-the-art facilities and services, it can accommodate all types of cruise ships and their passengers all year round.

This makes Venice not only an ideal and unique setting for its natural environment and artistic heritage, but also a great port. If you are going on a cruise and looking for a place to leave your car before departure, Parkimeter offers you the possibility to reserve a parking space in the Venice Utility Park, which has a free shuttle service to the Passenger Terminal of the Port of Venice.

Venice Mestre Station and Venice Santa Lucia Station

Parkimeter offers parking just a short distance from Venice Mestre Station, a strategic junction where the Milan-Venice, Venice-Trieste, Venice-Udine, Venice-Trento, Adria-Mestre lines converge and the four-track railway line that crosses the Ponte della Libertà bridge to reach the Venice Santa Lucia Station. The latter, located in the city centre and connected to Piazzale Roma by the Ponte della Costituzione (built by the architect Calatrava), is a typical station and the only real gateway to the lagoon city. But above all, it is one of the largest and busiest stations in Italy.
