Florence Parkings in Santa Croce

Park in Santa Croce

The Basilica di Santa Croce, designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, is considered one of the largest Franciscan churches in Gothic style and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1982. Legend said that it was founded by St. Francis of Assisi himself. Its imposing Gothic architecture, its beautiful frescoes, altarpieces and stained glass windows, together with numerous sculptures, make it one of the most important pages of Florentine art history since the 13th century. It is not unnecessarily known as the place where Stendhal manifested the first symptoms of what has since become known as Stendhal's Syndrome.
