Fuerteventura Airport

Fuerteventura Airport, also known as El Matorral, is a Spanish airport serving the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands Archipelago, in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean. It is identified by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) code: FUE and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) code: GCFV. It is the 12th most important airport in Spain. It is located 5 km southwest of the island's capital, Puerto del Rosario. The airport is connected to more than 80 destinations worldwide and welcomes more than 5 million passengers every year. The airport is owned by ENAIRE (the public commercial entity formerly known as AENA), which manages virtually all Spanish airports.

How do I get there?

There are many ways to get there. You can choose public transport thanks to its bus line linking the airport directly to the main towns on the island, including the capital Puerto del Rosario. Buses run every 15 minutes from 10am to 5.15pm and then every 30 minutes. The journey costs €1.45. Alternatively, you can choose to drive to the airport, which has a total of 945 spaces at competitive prices and offers, for example, charging points for electric vehicles.

Taxis.

You can also choose to take a taxi to and from the airport. It usually takes 10 minutes to get to the centre of the island's capital.

A taxi ride from Puerto del Rosario to Fuerteventura airport will cost you €13.60 with the possibility of adding free child seats or adapted vehicles for people with disabilities. On Sundays and public holidays the fare will be €2 more.

Here you can find the classic services of an international airport such as restaurants, duty free, packing machines, lost luggage service, .... El Matorral links the island directly to the rest of Spain, being connected to the main Spanish cities such as Barcelona, Seville, Madrid and Alicante.
