The Ham Museum opened in 1978 and is one of the first 'themed' restaurants in Spain. It began as a fruit shop and grocery store, until it became one of the best known delis in the area "Los extremeños".

It is located between only two streets of the Plaza Mayor and next to the Calle Mayor of *Madrid, a historic road that connects the Puerta del Sol with the slope of the Vega.
